Privacy Policy — CAMEL: Crossfigure Math Puzzle
Last updated: August 10, 2026
This Privacy Policy explains what information CAMEL: Crossfigure Math Puzzle (“CAMEL”, “the App”) collects, how it is used, and the choices you have. It applies to the App on Android (and, if released, iOS) and to our website at camelgame.app, including the free daily puzzle at camelgame.app/daily.
The App is developed and operated by Daonsu (“we”, “us”, “the developer”). Contact: camelgameapp@gmail.com.
1. Summary
- You can play CAMEL without creating an account. In that mode, your progress is stored on your device, and the App still creates an anonymous, unidentifiable account behind the scenes so your progress can sync if you later sign in.
- If you choose to sign in with Google, we store gameplay data (level, XP, streaks, achievements, settings) tied to your account so it syncs across devices and you can appear on leaderboards.
- We use Google Firebase (Google LLC) to host the app’s backend (database, authentication, crash reporting, analytics, push notifications). We do not sell your data.
- The website needs no account and no sign-in. The daily puzzle keeps your answers and your streak in your own browser — those are never sent to us. We do count anonymous totals of how many people open, finish or share a puzzle, and measure traffic with Cloudflare Web Analytics, which uses no cookies and does not fingerprint or track you across sites. Neither can be traced back to a person (see §2.6).
- The App does not knowingly collect data from children under 13 and is not directed at children (see §6).
- Optional ads (AdMob) and in-app purchases (RevenueCat) are built into the App but not yet enabled; this policy will be updated with their specific data practices before either is turned on for any user.
2. Data we collect
2.1 Account & identity
- Anonymous play: every install is assigned an anonymous Firebase Auth ID. No personal information is collected for anonymous play.
- Google Sign-In (optional): if you choose to create an account, we receive your Google account’s display name, email address, and profile photo URL from Google, and store your display name and photo URL in your CAMEL profile. We do not see or store your Google password.
2.2 Gameplay data
Tied to your account (anonymous or signed-in), we store:
- Display name, avatar, level, XP, hint-token balance
- Play statistics: puzzles solved/created, total play time, current/longest streak, daily-challenge completions
- Earned achievements and highest difficulty band completed
- App settings (theme, font size, notification preferences)
- Puzzle-in-progress state (so you can resume where you left off)
- Subscription status (
isPremium, expiry date) — populated only once in-app purchases are enabled (see §2.5)
2.3 Leaderboard & community data
If you participate in leaderboards, your display name, avatar, and score are visible to other users. Puzzle creation/sharing/comments (“community puzzles”) are planned but not yet available in the App; this policy will be updated with their specific data-sharing details before that feature ships.
2.4 Feedback you submit
If you use a feedback form — in the App, or on the daily puzzle page at camelgame.app/daily — we store the category, your message, an optional contact email you provide, and basic technical context (app version or puzzle number, and the screen you were on) to help us respond and fix issues.
Feedback sent from the website is anonymous. It is not attached to any account, and we do not store your IP address with it. Your IP is combined with the current date and hashed one-way, purely to limit how many messages one sender can submit per day; that value changes every day and is never written onto the feedback itself. Because of this, adding a contact email is the only way we can reply — without one we have no means of identifying or contacting you.
2.5 Diagnostics, analytics, ads, and purchases (Google Firebase / Google / RevenueCat)
- Firebase Analytics: anonymized usage events (e.g. puzzle completed, difficulty, time taken, hints used) to understand how the App is used.
- Firebase Crashlytics: crash and error reports to help us fix bugs. These reports may include device model, OS version, and app state at the time of the crash.
- Firebase Cloud Messaging: a device push-notification token, used only to send the reminders you opt into (daily puzzle, streak reminder). You can disable this in Settings.
- Google AdMob (not yet enabled): when ads are turned on, Google will collect advertising identifiers and serve ads per Google’s Ads policy. This policy will be updated and you will see in-app notice before ads go live.
- RevenueCat (not yet enabled): when in-app purchases are turned on, purchase and subscription status will be processed by RevenueCat and the Google Play / Apple App Store billing systems, governed by their own privacy policies, to keep your subscription status in sync.
We do not currently use AdMob or RevenueCat to collect data from any user — both are integrated in the App’s code but disabled pending account setup.
2.6 The website (camelgame.app)
The website is separate from the App and works differently: there is no account and no sign-in. The daily puzzle at camelgame.app/daily is a static page — the puzzle is downloaded to your browser, and your answers and your streak never leave your device.
Anonymous usage counts. So that we can tell whether the daily puzzle is working at all, the page reports a few plain actions as they happen: that a puzzle was opened, started, checked, finished (including how many seconds the solve took) or shared, and whether the link to the App was tapped. These are added to a running daily total and nothing else is kept — no name, no account, no device or advertising ID, no IP address, and never the digits you typed. The totals cannot be traced back to you or separated out into one person’s visit, and they are not used for advertising.
The other thing that leaves your browser is feedback, and only if you ask it to: if you open the feedback form and press Send, that message (and a contact email, if you add one) is transmitted to us as described in 2.4 above. Nothing is sent unless you press Send, and it is not linked to any account.
- Stored in your browser only (via
localStorage, not cookies): your progress on the current puzzle, your elapsed time, whether you used Check, and your streak. This never leaves your device and we cannot see it. Clearing your browser storage erases it permanently, including your streak. - Cloudflare Web Analytics: aggregate traffic measurement — page views, referring site, country, browser and device type. It sets no cookies, does not fingerprint your device, does not build a profile, and cannot follow you to other websites. We chose it over conventional analytics for exactly that reason. See Cloudflare Web Analytics and Cloudflare’s privacy policy.
- Cloudflare hosting: as with any web host, our host processes standard request data (including your IP address) to serve pages and protect against abuse.
There are no ads and no third-party trackers on the website. If you tap through from the website to the App, the App’s practices in the sections above apply from that point.
3. How we use your data
- To provide and sync your gameplay progress
- To operate leaderboards, achievements, and streaks
- To send opt-in push notifications
- To diagnose crashes and improve the App
- To respond to feedback and support requests
- To detect abuse (e.g. leaderboard score manipulation)
4. Who we share data with
We do not sell your personal data. We share data only with the service providers that operate the App on our behalf, each governed by its own privacy policy:
| Provider | Purpose |
|---|---|
| Google Firebase (Auth, Firestore, Cloud Functions, Analytics, Crashlytics, Cloud Messaging) | Backend hosting, authentication, database, crash/usage diagnostics, push notifications |
| Google Sign-In | Optional account creation |
| Google AdMob (not yet enabled) | Advertising, once turned on |
| RevenueCat (not yet enabled) | Subscription/purchase management, once turned on |
| Cloudflare (website only) | Website hosting; cookieless aggregate analytics for camelgame.app |
These providers may process data outside your country of residence. Where required (e.g. under GDPR), this is covered by their standard contractual safeguards.
5. Your rights and choices
- Play without an account: the App is fully playable anonymously.
- Notification control: disable daily/streak reminders any time in Settings.
- Access / export / deletion: email camelgameapp@gmail.com from the Google account you signed in with (this verifies your identity). We act on access, correction, or deletion requests within 30 days, consistent with GDPR/CCPA where applicable. Full account-deletion steps and the list of what is deleted vs. retained are on our account-deletion page. At launch, deletion is handled by this email-request process; a self-service “Delete my account” control is planned for a later update.
- EU/UK/California residents: you have rights to access, correct, delete, or restrict processing of your personal data, and to lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority. Contact us first so we can resolve your request directly.
6. Children’s privacy
CAMEL is intended for a general audience and is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us personal information, contact us at camelgameapp@gmail.com and we will delete it.
7. Data retention
We retain account and gameplay data for as long as your account is active, plus a reasonable period afterward to handle support requests and prevent abuse, unless you request earlier deletion (§5). Anonymous, locally-stored progress is deleted when you uninstall the App.
8. Security
We rely on Firebase’s infrastructure and security rules to protect your data (e.g. database rules restricting reads/writes to your own account data). No method of transmission or storage is 100% secure, but we take reasonable measures to protect your information.
9. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy as the App evolves (e.g. before enabling ads or purchases). We will update the “Last updated” date above and, for material changes, provide notice in the App.
