A crossfigure — a crossword where every cell holds a digit instead of a letter. Also called a crossnumber. Instead of definitions, the clues are mathematical properties: one entry is a perfect square, two others add up to a row of 9s, a third is three times its neighbour.
Because entries cross, each digit you place constrains the ones around it. Exactly one grid satisfies every clue, and you can always reach it by deduction alone — no guessing is ever required.
